Sales Assistant

Job Description
Salem Media Representatives (SMR) sales assistants handle a wide array of duties to support our national account executives in their selling efforts.   These duties include but are not limited to:

  • Creating broadcast agreements
  • Creating excel spreadsheets
  • Illustrating and proof-reading presentations
  • Coordinating campaign details with Salem Radio Network and our partner stations
  • Providing information to advertising clients
  • Researching clients and their industries
  • Helping account executives find compelling quantitative and qualitative research for presentations

Our national account executives are among the best in our industry.  As a result, the SMR selling environment is extremely fast-paced and competitive.  Sales Assistants must be able to quickly understand each client’s campaign objectives and what their account executives need to achieve with each client and provide the appropriate support accurately and in a timely manner.  Exceptional sales assistants, after working with an account executive for a while, almost begin reading their account executive’s mind anticipating needs and filling those needs even before requested.  This exceptional level of support allows account executives to devote the majority of their time in front of clients maximizing revenue opportunities.

SMR sales assistants possess strong organizational, grammar, oral and written communication skills.  SMR sales assistants must be adept in all Microsoft office products especially in excel and PowerPoint.  SMR sales assistants must have a positive attitude, be able to multi-task and re-prioritize throughout each day.

National Account Executive

Job Description
Each day, Salem Media Representatives’ National Account Executives work to find advertising clients for our Salem Media Representatives partner radio stations, the Salem Radio Network and our Salem online and print publications.  SMR National Account Executives work with CEOs, Chief Marketing Officers, Ad Agency Account Executives, Media Directors and Media Buyers to understand client marketing objectives and develop successful multi-media advertising campaigns.  SMR National Account Executives work in a competitive, yet positive, fast-paced environment.  We have the honor of representing some of the country’s leading radio stations and talk shows and serving some of the world’s most respected companies.

SMR National Account Executive applicants should possess at least three years of successful radio and/or advertising sales experiences and demonstrate a proven track record of new business development and building executive-level relationships.  Applicants must possess solid computer skills, outstanding oral and written communication skills as well as strong presentation and negotiation skills.  While most days SMR National Account Executives spend their day on the phone and online with clients, occasional travel may be necessary.
